I am glad that the 'alien' comet is headed for the sun, and not headed for us.
The 'alien' space rock, which at 3.7 miles (6 kilometres) wide is the size of Mount Kilimanjaro, was first spotted by a US astronomer in 1986 with the help of a homemade cardboard telescope.

It's not "streaking straight towards the sun" in the sense that it will collide with it. As said in the report, it will make it's next close approach in 2028. Even if it does 'collide', it will be vapourised and, although relatively large as comets go, it's miniscule in relation to the mass of the Sun.
It will never hit the sun's atmosphere
