  • How To Properly and Effectively Use a Firearm

Hey Everyone, the Junkman here with a very important public announcement.

We as black men in America have been hunted by racist because of the color of our skin. You can't even go to church, the supermarket or even a Waffle House without some racist clown coming in with a long rifle and shooting the place up. Because of this, having an exit strategy when you find yourself in this type of situation is NECESSARY. Personally, I don't go ANYWHERE without my weapon, whether it's church of Chucky Cheese, I am armed at all times and I carry two extra magazines with me.

Now the state where I live (Kentucky), has a constitutional carry gun law. That means that ANYONE who doesn't have a felony record can carry a concealled weapon with NO permit at all. The bad thing about this is that they don't need to have any training either so I'm sure we have people walking around with a concelled weapon who doesn't have one iota of a clue as to how or when to use their firearm. In this thread, I am going to cover that subject in detail.

First off, I have been carrying a weapon since I was a 19-year old Marine. I'm 59 now so as you can tell, I've been carrying for a LONG time. I also spent time in law enforcement so carrying a weapon is second nature to me. I don't go ANYWHERE inside my house without my weapon. I sleep with it and it stays within reach at all times. You never know when someone might decide to kick down your front door and as the provider and protector of your family, it is YOU who must be the first line of defense against all that would bring ill will to you and your family. With that in mind, you must be EFFECTIVE if you decide to use a firearm to provide that defense. A bullet doesn't know who your family members are so you must be ACCURATE if you decide to start sending hot lead down range. The proper handling and firing of a handgun is crucial information to know so that you can not only address any threat but also so that you don't take out a undesired target. Thus I have created a series of videos that thoroughly address the technique of being effective with your firearm.

I spent time while a Marine instructing Marines as a marksmanship coach. I was one of the Marines on the rifle and pistol range that taught other Marines to effectively hit any target that they shot at. The process that the Marines use is PROVEN. To this day, that is the process I use and have taught quite a few people, especially women, to accurately send rounds downrange. If you are serious about learning how to be effective with a firearm, these videos will be crucial to your learning.

Now these videos are NOT short so you want to watch them when you can TAKE NOTES AND PAY ATTENTION. I can teach ANYONE to be effective with a firearm if they follow my instructions to the letter. So far, I have never had anyone who has NEVER shot a firearm, miss the target on the first shot they ever took. If you take what I show in these video seriously, you too can become an effective firearm owner and garner a sense of confidence if you ever need to use your firearm to defend yourself or the lives of those in your immediate vicinity. With that said, here we go!

This is the first video of a 4-part series where I cover the fine skill of firing a handgun and actually hitting what you are shooting at. However, there are a ton of things that you should consider BEFORE thinking about owning and walking around with a handgun. I am going to cover the bulk of some of those things in the entire series but this video addresses some of the most important things to consider.

In part two of this series, I cover a few more critical things but most importantly, I cover the exact technique used to aim your weapon and hit the target. This technique on how to aim is a sure fire way to guarantee that you will hit the target every time. If you take the time to master this technique, you can them branch off into other techniques of shooting that are geared to other styles of shooting. Before you can learn other styles, you must first get your rounds on the paper. This technique will definitely get you on the paper. It's funny... I am so use to teaching Marines on how to shoot the M16A2 rifle that I often throughout this video call the front sight, "the front sight post." It just comes out without me realizing it because I have taught it for so long. Just realize that when I say "front sight post", I actually meant to say "front sight."

In this video, I cover exactly how I hold my weapon. I show my hand positions and go over my technique in detail. I also cover IMPORTANT range information from how to conduct yourself to what to wear and safety equipment.

In this video, we take all that we learned and put it to the application of firing your weapon. For those who jumped straight to this video, you will quickly realize that you are not learning anything because the lessons are in the first TWO videos. I did it that way on purpose so if you didn't watch the first two videos, any questions that you may ask are going to get the same answer: Go back and watch the first two videos. I can tell by the questions posted, who has done what, just as I do with my detailing videos. In this video, I say that I am shooting at the 10-yard line but it looks more like I am shooting at the 15-yard line. That's 45-feet. My eyes aren't what they use to be! Either way, I'm a little bit rusty coming off this COVID19 break so I have some catching up to do. Again, as a novice, you will not be shooting at those distances, 5-yards should be your working distance. I need more of a challenge as I can hit something at 5-yards in my sleep.

Here I am sporting my Expert rifle and pistol badges.

In the America we live in today, you have got to be crazy to be walking around without a firearm if you can legally carry one. You do NOT want to become a statistic and you owe it to your loved ones to be able to defend them, if that becomes necessary. Learn the laws of the state you live in concerning carrying a firearm and legally arm yourselves. It's a jungle out here and you want to be ready if one of these clowns decides to go postal. When I say I carry at ALL times, I mean at ALL times, no matter what I'm doing.

What do you think about people that have access to "switches" for the handguns? Since a civilian like myself can't get access to a automatic legally or at a reasonable price. If needed I could show the need of why I feel I need something like that other than a standard handgun. Just since the pandemic alone I have had two encounters where it 1 vs multiple and alot of the jacking and robbing videos show that too.

Here's the problem with THAT mindset. You have to understand that the SOUND of a handgun is a VERY effective deterrent to crime. When you are attacked by multiple individuals (especially civilians), the sound of that weapon going off is one hell of a wakeup call to the bad guys. The concussion alone is deafening. Now put THIS into the equation. Let's say you hit someone with a round and you don't kill them. They are going to cry out loud enough for the rest of the bad guys to hear, and that blood curdling scream is going to act like rapid fire BY ITSELF because NO ONE ELSE wants to experience that pain. With that in mind, I know that one or two WELL PLACED ROUNDS is going to do way more damage than praying and spraying. If you pray and spray, the weapon may empty before the bad guys have time to run away and the audible CLICK of a empty weapon is going to be deafening to everyone, ESPECIALLY YOU. That alone may make the bad guys go after you instead of running away and at that point, YOU ARE GOING TO BE KILLED.

For that reason alone, I would NEVER consider that mindset. I know that when I hit some of the bad guys, THE REST ARE GOING TO RUN AWAY. That will leave me with rounds in my weapon to which I can use to retreat and take cover. There is a reason that military rifles have a choice between fully automatic and semi-automatic. If fully automatic was the best thing since sliced bread, ALL military handguns and rifles would ONLY be fully automatic. But since the powers that be fully understand the pitfalls of the pray and spray, military weapons have the option to do both.

During my time in the military, I carried the M203 Grenade Launcher. It was a M-16-A2 with a grenade launcher that hung under the barrel. NEVER did I ever go full auto because that would have been noting but a waste of ammo. Since I had to carry all that ammo with me, I wasn't trying to run out of it and then hope and pray everyone else didn't do the same thing. So I understood the art of 1-shot, one-kill. If you are effective with your weapon, you don't need to walk around with a ammo can full of rounds.

The Vietnamese understood this well. They understood that killing a soldier only took out 1 person but if you maimed them, it would take out THREE. Two to carry the wounded and the wounded soldier too. For that reason, they shot to maim instead of to kill because that evened out the advantage they didn't have when they were faced with overwhelming numbers. In any video you find on Youtube, when the shooting starts, the people scatter like roaches in a kitchen when the lights come on. So the last thing I'm gonna do is end up with an empty weapon against multiple threats. That's the quickest way to sign your death certificate.

Watch what one or two rounds do to multiple bad guys:
