If San Jose was known to have a big Black population then they would claim there's a lot crime there too
I'm sure Pleasanton has it's fair share of crime

Yep. That's true. Oakland is gentrified. Pleasanton probably does. To most people, anything synonymous with black is seen as bad, dangerous, and low-class.
