3,500 fatalities? That's alot of people. Earthquakes ain't no joke. It's a scary thing to have the ground beneath your feet shaking.

Wow, nature is terrifying. I'm sure their building codes are a lot more lax than what they are in the US; that may be a reason for so many deaths.
