  • Comedian Mark Curry Suffers Racist Harassment For Being In Hotel Lobby

Yea I dealt with this type of situation before..as a black man ur always seen as being out of place, and "not belonging"...as a black man ur mere existence is sometimes seen as loitering or "hanging around"

I agree. I used to dress up to go out to avoid these confrontations but learned it was all in vain.

We get treated this way regardless of how we dress

Yo this is so true!!! Black men get treated the same no matter how we dress!! I realized this with women...I would struggle with these racist women and ppl would say it's how I'm dressing, but when I dress nice I still get the same racist BS from women

I went through the exact same stuff when i was younger. I wrote about in my book. People dont expect to see black men anywhere except the hood. If they see a black man in a place that they think you shouldn't be at. They start tripping.

Truthfully , much of this society perceives black men the same way they did during Jim crow...that a black man shouldn't be allowed certain places..and a black man only allowed to exist at the work place, other than the workplace a black man shouldn't be able to show his face in public...most black men dmt know this society still sees us the same way as Jim crow, only the laws have changed but most ppl secretly still see black men as ppl whom are supposed to live their life we're under 1930s oppression.

I even used to dress up for my driver's license. That's how much I thought perception was reality.

But reality is they will lock up brutha in jeans or slacks.

Exactly. When I was in college, the only time people would show me respect, was when I wore a 3 piece suit to school. When I wore regular clothes, I was treated like just another n****r.
